Tulsa, Ok - River Spirit Casino presented a check to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for over $13,000 on June 16, in the Mystic River Lounge, located in the center of the casino. This presentation was a celebration of the casino’s contribution to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk, more than tripling the fundraising efforts of last year. With the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk approaching, River Spirit Casino gave their guests an opportunity to help this great cause. All guests that donated $10 or more received $10 back in Rewards Play, from the casino, on their River Spirit Casino Infinity Card. “The Muscogee (Creek) Nation and River Spirit Casino have a long history of supporting and giving back to the community,” said Jenny Cross, Director of Marketing at River Spirit Casino. “The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides Walk is a national event with strong local roots. We have high hopes that each year the donations continue to grow.” The Great Strides Walk took place on May 30th at more than 600 walk sites, including in Tulsa at Centennial Park. This event is the foundation’s largest fund-raising event, raising $37 million in 2008. The donations provide opportunities for all people within a local community to get involved by forming teams through their workplace, clubs, and organizations or with friends and family.
